Year 1 & 2 2018 - 2019
Welcome to Year 1 & 2
Our autumn term topic is...
'How Do We Build Bridges?'
We will begin by learning about bridges in both our local area and around the world. We will consider how bridges are built, who builds them and the best materials to use. The children will then design, build, test and review a range of bridges before deciding which is most suitable for The Three Little Pigs to cross a river without being caught by The Big Bad Crocodile. In addition there will be many opportunities to explore teamwork, problem solving and building bridges in terms of friendships and relationships.
We will also be exploring a range of stories and learning lots of exciting Talk for Writing texts, including: The Three Little Pigs and the Big Bad Crocodile, The Troll by Julia Donaldson, The Lighthouse Keepers Lunch by Ronda Armitage and The Owl Who Was Afraid of the Dark by Jill Tomlinson.
Please have a look at our topic web to see all of the other exciting things we are learning about!
