Our admissions criteria are summarised below.

Eligibility

Children become eligible for a place the term after they turn three. There are currently three intakes in September, January and after Easter. If you have registered an interest and there are places available then you will be contacted sometime during the term before your child would be eligible to start and offered a choice of the available sessions.

Priority for admissions

  1. Children in need
  2. Children with Special Educational Needs
  3. Pupils for whom exceptional personal/domestic circumstances justify their admission
  4. Other admissions
  5. Out of County pupils

Factors which cannot be taken into account when determining admission to nursery education are;
* The question of which primary school the child is likely to attend
* Whether the child is in the school's catchment area
* The length of time a child's name has been on the waiting list
The offer of a nursery place is no guarantee of a school place.

Admissions Procedure

Children are eligible for places in the nursery in the term after their 3rd birthday, however if the nursery is over-subscribed then children will be grouped into 3 age bands, those born on and between these dates.

a) 1st September to 31st December
b) 1st January to 31st March
c) 1st April to 31st August

Children in band a) will be given first priority for admission, then b) then c).
If there are more applications in any band than places available, priority will be given to children living nearest to the school.

Applications Deadline

The deadline for applications is half a term before your child would be eligible to start. e.g. if your child was eligible to start in January then the deadline would be the October half term break. However, if there are places available, then applications will be considered after the deadline.
