AutumnTerm learning - Vikings
Our topic this term focuses on the Vikings. We will be learning about where the Vikings came from and their first raid on Lindisfarne; how they travelled and traded far and wide on longboats; the discovery of the Vale of York hoard; Danegeld; The Battle of Hastings and what happened as a result of the battle.
Our English work will be based on texts Young, Gifted and Black, and Race To The Frozen North
In other areas of the curriculum we will be learning about:
Art - Drawing with a focus on shading. Watercolour and the work of wildlife artist Hilary Burn.
Computing - Computing systems and networks plus vector drawing.
D&T - Celebrating culture and seasonality through baking.
P.E - Basketball and Gymnastics.
PSHE - TEAM and Think Positive.
R.E - Why are the 5 pillars of Islam important to their daily lives? How is a Muslim way of life expressed at home and in the community?
Homework
We will set homework each Monday, which is due in on Friday.
PE Days
Indoor P.E for both classes on Wednesday.
Outdoor P.E for Swift on Thursday
